True Strength
“Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”
““Now the one who had received one talent came forward and said, ‘I knew you were a hard man. You harvest where you didn’t plant and gather where you didn’t sow seed. I was afraid, so I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here! Take what belongs to you!’ ‘You wicked, lazy servant!’ said his master, ‘So you knew, did you, that I harvest where I haven’t planted? and that I gather where I didn’t sow seed? Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, so that when I returned, I would at least have gotten back interest with my capital!”
Mattityahu (Mat) 25:24-27 CJB
“You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?”
James 2:19-20 NASB1995
Who are the weak and who or the strong? In this context, we see that he implies that everyone is weak. Whether you were a believer since you were little or have a degree in theology, you are still weak. You might be saying then why does it say “we who are strong,” if you say we are all weak? I’m here to tell you it’s not we are who are strong it’s He who is strong in us. So if we have Him then we are automatically strong? Well, not exactly. Take it like this, you inherited over a million dollars, yet you bury it in the ground and do nothing with it. You forget where you placed it and spent all your other money. Are you still considered rich?
See being a Christian is much more than just believing in Christ. For even the demons know His name and believe in Him. Yet what the difference should be is that although they believe, they don’t accept and don’t follow Him. To accept Him is for us to say we will love you as you are. That’s what you do when you love someone correct? Yet if we love Him we will follow His commandments.
Yet if we don’t, we are burying His love in the ground. It doesn’t mean He doesn’t love us. But that we don’t love Him enough to let Him transform our lives and let Him above the ground. So where is God in your life? Are you truly strong? Or do you let your strength and your God stay in the ground?
So proud of you :)
