Secular Fast: Why I'm doing it

“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting," -Joel 2:12 A

Before I enter a new season I like to make sure I’m prepare. I like to make sure I find time to focus on God and only God. Life has so many things to throw at us so I find it vital to make sure our relationships with God are strong. Because of that I decided to take a fast from secular music, books, and tv shows/movies. I spend so much time watching baking shows or reading comics when although those things aren’t bad, I seem to do those things first and let them take up all my time rather then spending that much needed time with God. In saying that I decided to keep track of how I did it and how much it affected me in order to encourage you guys too to take a fast whether that’s from secular tv, video games, or who knows maybe even a food fast.
