Golden Calf

God created all things. Everything that has breath, anything that we see, and even things we don’t see like wind He still made. Yet instead of worshiping Him many turn to worship the things He created.

“When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. "Come on," they said, "make us some gods who can lead us. We don't know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt." So Aaron said, "Take the gold rings from the ears of your wives and sons and daughters, and bring them to me."

All the people took the gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron.

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed, "O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!"

Exodus 32:1-4 (NLT)

Gold made from God, was used by humans to make an idol. An object without power, without life, that can’t help nor lead, they turned from God to worship a man made cow . “How you turn things upside down! — Is the potter not better than the clay, Does something made say of its maker, “He didn’t make me”? Does the product say of its producer, “He has no discernment,” Isaiah 29:16. If the product is not greater than it’s producer than why worship it ? And if the producer produces all things including us, than why turn away from it ? It is the impatience of the Israelites that turned them away. They could not wait on God’s perfect timing and for that they not only wasted their resources, they turned away from the Lord.
