Paciencia y Fe
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
“Paciencia y Fe.” (Patience and Faith) It’s a small but popular saying in my culture to the point that we have songs about it and many of our movies even follow the theme. Many times we read in the Bible great tales of patience or faith but it’s important to see that they go hand and hand. We see this in the book of Job after he has lost everything Eliphaz said to him, “If someone ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can keep from speaking? Think how you have instructed many, how you have strengthened feeble hands. Your words have supported those who stumbled; you have strengthened faltering knees. But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are dismayed. Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope?”
Job 4:2-6 NIV
We know due to Jeremiah 29:11 that God has “plans to prosper” us and not to harm us. God never lies and Job believed that too. Eventually, he saw God turn things around for him and he got blessed twice as much as he did before. On Sunday night I asked people to pray that migraines will go away for good. I even threw away my pills as I had faith that I would no longer need them. Well, I was right I no longer need those pills, but that’s because the doctors switch me to a stronger one :/ However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t be healed. It just means that I won’t be healed now. But no matter what we go through we will see victory through Christ. Can I get an Amen to that?
