Because of my boyfriend, I ate a Western BQQ Burger

"But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one." - 1 Corinthians 5:11

I had a disorder that made eating beef and pork very difficult. And even when God healed me I just wasn’t used to beef anymore. Yet after spending time with my brisket-loving boyfriend, I ended up eating the things he ate. There were always vegan options for me and the majority of BBQ places have chicken, but after being with him for 8 months, I saw that I started to get a very similar sense of taste to him. It didn’t really hit me until today when I ordered a Western BBQ burger that I could barley hold with my own hands as well a double chocolatey frappuccino. I told my mom what I ordered and she looked at me with the strangest face ever because she knew that ain't me. Yet that burger is now my favorite thing at Corkeys restaurant (where i have tried literally half the things on the menu).

Now, why am I telling you all this, well it’s because I want to warn you with this, who you hang out with, is who you become. I’m not saying there is going to be two of you or Vice versus. But you are going to pick up on each other’s habits whether you like it or not. And it’s not just a saying , it’s proven by psychologists every where.

So here’s the question: are there any habits in your boyfriend/girlfriend you don’t want to pick up on? Their are some things I don’t want to pick up from Tommy like his forgetfulness (one of us has to remember things at least), however his forgetfulness is not part of him and it’s not something he can really control. But things like anger, cussing, and joking about stuff inappropriately, that’s stuff that people can control and that you don’t want to get used to. Even if you don’t necessarily pick up on it right away, you can become desensitized to it.

So ask yourself, is their some habits that your partner or you need to work on?
